About our Beeswax Candles

Learn what makes Honeyfields Bee Farm’s beeswax candles unique, how they’re made, and why they’re a sustainable and natural choice for your home.

&nbsp

At Honeyfields Bee Farm, everything we make starts with our bees. We’re a family-run bee farm in Warwickshire producing award-winning English honey and hand-poured beeswax candles made using wax from our own hives. Our candles are crafted in small batches using traditional methods — no additives, no synthetic fragrance, just pure beeswax and natural cotton wicks. We take pride in offering candles that are authentic, sustainable, and made entirely by the beekeeper, not a factory. Each one captures the warm, natural scent of the hive and reflects our commitment to caring for our bees, the countryside, and the craft of British beekeeping.

&nbsp

All of our beeswax comes directly from our own honeybees here on the farm, as part of our honey extraction process. It’s gently cleaned and filtered by us before being hand-poured into candles — nothing imported, blended, or chemically treated. By using only our own wax, we can guarantee every candle is 100 % pure, traceable, and sustainably made right here in Warwickshire. This approach reduces waste from our honey production, keeps every part of the hive in use, and means our candles are truly from our bees to your home.'t.

&nbsp

We know our pure beeswax candles cost a little more than mass-produced ones, but that’s because they’re made the traditional way — direct from the beekeeper, right here on our family-run farm in Warwickshire. The wax we use is a natural by-product of our honey extraction process, carefully cleaned and hand-poured into candles in small batches. Beeswax takes time and care for the bees to produce, and it burns longer, cleaner, and brighter than other waxes, giving off a gentle natural honey scent with no added fragrance. When you buy from us, you’re supporting British beekeeping, sustainable craftsmanship, and candles that are truly made from the hive.'t.

About Beeswax Candles in General

Curious about how to care for, store, and burn beeswax candles properly? These tips and answers will help you get the best from every candle — safely and beautifully.

&nbsp

Beeswax burns differently to other waxes, so a little care goes a long way. For pillar candles, let the wax melt all the way across the top during the first burn (usually 2–3 hours). This prevents tunnelling and helps your candle burn evenly. Keep the wick trimmed to around 5 mm before each burn and always place your candle on a stable, heat-proof surface away from draughts, children, and pets. For dinner candles, ensure a snug fit in the holder and keep them upright while burning.

&nbsp

A soft white film, known as “bloom”, is completely natural and a hallmark of pure beeswax. It forms as the wax naturally crystallises over time, especially in cooler conditions. Bloom doesn’t affect the burn or quality of your candle — in fact, it’s proof that your candle contains no additives or blends. If you prefer a polished look, simply buff the surface gently with a soft cloth to restore its golden sheen.

&nbsp

Beeswax has a higher melting point than paraffin or soy, meaning it burns slower and hotter, producing a bright, steady flame. This makes it incredibly long-lasting and efficient. A well-cared-for beeswax candle offers more hours of clean burn time than candles made from cheaper waxes.

&nbsp

Unlike synthetic or scented candles, our beeswax candles have a light, natural honey aroma that comes directly from the nectar and pollen stored in the beeswax. The scent is subtle and clean — perfect for people who prefer natural fragrance without overpowering perfumes.

&nbsp

Trim your wick to around 5 mm before each burn to maintain a steady flame and avoid smoking. If you see a “mushroom” shape on the wick, extinguish the candle, trim it back, and relight. For pillar candles, “hug” the wax edge inwards occasionally (while the candle is extinguished and still warm) to help it burn evenly.

&nbsp

Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Beeswax softens in warm temperatures and may develop natural bloom in cooler ones. To keep them looking their best, wrap them in breathable paper or cloth and store them upright.

&nbsp

Yes — because our candles contain no added perfumes or essential oils, they’re ideal for those sensitive to artificial scents. The natural honeyed aroma is gentle, subtle, and clean-burning, creating a calm atmosphere without irritation.
