UK Produced F1 Buckfast 2024 queen bee, mated and marked accordingly for the year.
Developed by Brother Adam, who was in charge of beekeeping from 1919 at Buckfast Abbey in Devon in the United Kingdom, the Buckfast bee is a hybrid honey bee. A cross of many subspecies and strains selected for individual traits. Buckfast queens are very prolific in the spring laying lots of eggs building up strong colonies for honey production in the spring and summer. Lower tendency to swarm, calm on the comb and very placid bees when handled gently. They are the perfect bees for hobby and commercial beekeepers alike.
Produced from German and Danish breeding stock selected with good VSH and mated with selected drones that we flood the area with.
All of our queen bees are dispatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1:00pm and must be signed for. This is to ensure that the queen spends minimal time in transit.
Queens are dispatched in an introduction cage with several attendants to look after her on the journey. Click here to see our method of introduction. Please be aware that acceptance into your colony is not guaranteed.

Our UK Buckfast queen bees for sale are naturally mated in our own mating apiaries and are left to lay eggs for 2 weeks before being caught for dispatch. In the highly unlikely chance you end up with non laying or drone laying queens we will happily replace if sufficient photographic evidence is provided at our request.
