5 Frame Nucleus With Seasonally Produced Buckfast Queen

Availability: We aim to have the first nucs ready for the middle of May and to fulfil all orders in weekly waves until the end of June. We operate on a first ordered first contacted for collection basis.
£270.00

PRE ORDER FOR MID MAY 2024.

Our seasonally produced spring nucs are headed by an 2024 imported Buckfast queen, marked accordingly. Busting with bees and ready to be transferred into a full-size hive. Buckfast bees are known for being very prolific. Our spring nucs will usually build up in time to produce a summer crop of honey and will be excellent on the heather, as long as the conditions are right and the colony is managed correctly.

COLLECTION ONLY! PAY THE FULL AMOUNT OF £270.00 OR A £70.00 NON REFUNDABLE BOOKING FEE. If only a booking fee is paid, the remaining balance is payable just before collection (£200.00)

Please be aware that early availability of queens and good/bad weather during the spring can influence how early/late collections will start.

For guaranteed early nucs we recommend an overwintered nuc.

All nucs are COLLECTION ONLY. Please make sure you leave a CORRECT contact number and email. If we cannot contact you, we cannot arrange collection of your bees! In the event that we are unable to contact you your order will be put to the bottom of the orders list until we are able to contact you or you contact us. If we cannot contact you at all, we will cancel your order and you will lose the booking fee.

All of our seasonally produced nucs are built up in polystyrene nuc boxes to ensure they have the best conditions for a newly established colony. Produced on British Standard National DN4 frames and transferred over to a temporary correx travel box the day before collection. Each nuc will have a young laying queen that is marked accordingly for the year, three to four frames of brood in different stages (eggs, larvae and sealed brood) with at least one frame of food. All of our honey/nuc production colonies are treated for varroa during the Autumn using approved treatments, keeping colonies strong and healthy for us to produce nucs in the spring. Our nucs are perfect for all levels of experience whether you're a 'newbee' taking on your first hive or a commercial beekeeper wanting to expand.

Really impressed, extremely placid bees and I transferred them into a new hive with no difficulty, excellent advice from Honeyfields bee farm. Have had them just over a week and they have already drawn out more frames.

Highly recommended. Well organised collection procedure from the farm. The bees are very placid. They have settled into their new hive well and are busy every day collecting pollen from our garden and the neighbourhood. I will certainly be using Honeyfields again
